We are currently full for the Fall 2017 class, but we have started accepting applications for the Fall 2018 class. Our 16-month program is full time on campus in Columbia, South Carolina.

Established in 1983, the Master of Human Resources program at the Darla Moore School of Business has become a leader in human resources excellence.

The strong education and practical experience you will receive in the Master of Human Resources program at the Moore School will prepare you for the exciting challenges you will face as an HR professional. You will be thoroughly trained in the traditional and essential functions of recruiting, selecting, designing assessing compensation plans, achieving compliance with government regulations, coordinating benefits packages and managing labor issues. In addition, you will learn how HR professionals serve as strategic business partners to manage the enormous change in today’s workplace.

Take a Class

The Postbaccalaureate Studies program offers you the opportunity to take a course or courses. Faculty and Research Officers of the University will complete an abbreviated application consisting of contact and citizenship information, and will not be assessed the application fee nor be required to submit additional documents.

Simply complete an abbreviated Postbaccalaureate Studies application, consisting of contact and citizenship information. No other documents or information are required, and you will not be assessed an application fee. Within 24 hours, you will receive your welcome letter, at which time you can fill out and send along your registration form, which we provide. Our staff will handle this initial class registration on your behalf and our Student Services team will contact you directly. Evening courses are available in many of the departments in the Arts and Sciences. Visit our Fall/Spring courses or Summer courses pages for detailed course information.

Please note, upon submission of this form the School of Professional Studies will create a student record for you and you will be registered for the designated courses.

Options for Employees without a Bachelor’s Degree

Pursue a bachelor’s degree at Columbia

Individuals who do not hold a bachelor’s degree should contact the School of General Studies to find out about applying for admission to an undergraduate degree program at Columbia.

Audit a class or classes

Individuals interested in sitting in on selected courses in the Arts and Sciences may apply to audit a class or classes. Employees should note that tuition exemption does not cover audited courses. For more information regarding tuition benefits please visit the University’s Human Resources website.

Tuition Exemption

Columbia University offers a Tuition Exemption Benefit Program for both full-time, regular salaried Officers as well as Support Staff, so that you and your eligible dependents may take courses at Columbia.

  1. Check your eligibility: To find out what your Tuition Exemption Benefit covers, go to http://hr.columbia.edu/benefits and log into the CU Benefits Enrollment System with your UNI & Password. Go to "Actions," then to "Tuition Programs, Print Your Eligibility Form," and then click "Tuition Exemption - For Yourself." For more detailed information and the Tuition Exemption Benefits Policy, please visit http://hr.columbia.edu/benefits/tuition.
  2. Submit your application: A School of Professional Studies program application is required, and you must be admitted into the program in order to register for courses. If you are applying for the Spring 2015 semester, please submit your application as soon as possible to receive early consideration, as many courses have limited space.
  3. Register: Instructions on how to register for courses will be sent upon admission to the program.
  4. Submit your eligibility form: In order for your Tuition Exemption Benefit to be applied to your student account, you must present a signed Tuition Exemption Eligibility Form each term to the Student Financial Services office at your school before the end of the Change of Program Period.
